How a strawberry ice cream bar helped us get a family dog 🍓

Published 4 months ago • 1 min read

Hi there, Reader!

When I was a kid, I wanted a dog. My bed was lined with stuffed animals of all kinds, but little Laura wanted a dog more than anything.

So, after a lot of convincing, my parents found a dog that shouldn't aggravate my allergies.

But I still got sick.

Devastated, my parents thought that they would have to return our new little pup.

But then, thanks to the allergy symptom trackers my parents had kept for years, we realized that in the mornings and afternoons, I felt fine. It wasn't until after dinner my allergies would act up.

Putting on our detective hats, we realized that it was not the dog making my allergies worse, it was the strawberry ice cream bars made with coconut milk!

I got to keep my sweet dog and to this day I don't eat strawberry ice cream bars.

This was only because my parents had been tracking and navigating my childhood allergies for years at this point.

Today, I wanted to share my latest article with you on how you can navigate the world of childhood allergies. From understanding symptoms to treatment plants, I interviewed my parents and included a lot of their techniques in this article, all to help you help your little ones.

Navigating Childhood Allergies: A Parent’s Guide to Symptoms and Care

Everything you need to know about allergies in children including symptoms treatment, what to avoid, and how to stay safe.

Oh, and in case you were wondering, I created a recipe for strawberry ice cream bars made without the coconut milk.

And my own little dog who I got in college is by my feet as I write this to you.

Stay warm this weekend, my friends!

Love and Sprinkles,

Laura
